چکیده
Maternal obesity and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are linked with impaired placental function early onset of non-communicable cardiometabolic diseases in offspring. Previous studies have highlighted that the dietary non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs) palmitate (PA) oleate (OA), key metabolites associated maternal GDM, potential modulators lipid processing. Using BeWo cell line model, current study integrated transcriptomic (mRNA microarray), metabolomic, lipidomic readouts to characterize underlying impacts exogenous PA OA on villous trophoblast metabolism. Targeted gas chromatography thin-layer saturated monounsaturated NEFAs differentially impact profiles. Furthermore, cellular profiles differed when exposed single multiple NEFA species. Additional multi-omic analyses suggested exposure is enrichment β-oxidation pathways, while anti-inflammatory antioxidant pathways. Overall, this further demonstrated important regulators Encouraging appropriate advice implementing interventions maintain by limiting excessive remain crucial managing at-risk obese GDM pregnancies.

A relation between non-esterified fatty acids in plasma and the metabolism of glucose.
The concentration of non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) in plasma increases after an injection of heparin (1). Apparently a lipase released into the blood (2, 3) hydrolyzes the neutral fat in chylomicrons (4) and promotes both the reduction of turbidity in the plasma and removal of fatty acids to tissues. If the small amounts of NEFA normally present in blood arise from hydrolysis of circulating...

Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia in the elderly. The cause of Alzheimer's disease is still unknown and there is no cure for the disease yet despite 100 years of extensive research. Cardiovascular risk factors such as high serum cholesterol, presence of the Apolipoprotein epsilon4 (APOE epsilon4) allele and hypertension, play important roles in the development of Alzheimer...
متن کاملEffect of non-esterified fatty acids on fatty acid metabolism-related genes in calf hepatocytes cultured in vitro.
BACKGROUND NEFA plays numerous roles in the metabolism of glucose, lipids, and proteins. A number of experimental studies have shown that NEFA may have an important role in fatty acid metabolism in the liver, especially in dairy cows that experience negative energy balance (NEB) during early lactation. METHODS In this study, using fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR, ELISA, and primary hepatocyte...

1. The metabolic responses to an oral glucose tolerance test (100 g) and an intravenous insulin provocation test (0-1 i.u./kg) were studied in nine control subjects and nine patients with Huntington's chorea. 2. Plasma glucose responses to these stimuli were identical in both groups. 3. High fasting concentrations of non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) were recorded in the choreic patients when co...
متن کاملCentral sympathetic outflow to skeletal muscle: the major link between non-esterified fatty acids and elevated blood pressure?
Sympathetic nervous system activation is a hallmark of several conditions associated with an adverse prognosis, including hypertension and the metabolic syndrome. Proposed mediators of increased sympathetic drive include hyperinsulinaemia, leptin, NEFAs (non-esterified fatty acids), pro-inflammatory cytokines, baroreflex impairment and others. The role of NEFAs appears to be of particular impor...
